What is Respite?
Respite offers caregivers a crucial interval of relief, allowing them to rest, attend to errands, or manage personal matters while their loved ones receive attentive care in a safe and stimulating environment. For participants, respite signifies an opportunity to break free from isolation, foster new friendships, and engage in enriching activities. Our program, the Chadwick Foundation Academy, is meticulously crafted to uphold the integrity of our enrolled community members.

Note from the Founder:
Due to transportation challenges for special events and community-based instruction, we’ve decided to pause the launch of the Chadwick Foundation Academy this fall & spring. Despite applying for several grants, we haven’t yet secured the necessary funding for a van, which is crucial for the academy’s operations. As a new non-profit, many investors won’t consider us yet, but we remain hopeful for a future relaunch. Thank you for your ongoing support—your involvement through volunteering, advocating, and fundraising is invaluable as we continue working toward our mission. Stay tuned for exciting updates!
Days and Times:
Participants may attend the program on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Our organization follows the same schedule as Lauderdale County Schools for Weather related closings and delays.
We are also closed for all Federal Holidays.
Activities Include:
- Social activities
- Arts & Music
- Cognitive and Physical Exercise
- Games and Puzzles
- Service Projects
- Intergenerational activities
Eligibility Requirements:
Participants must be able to:
- Ambulate independently
- Attend to their own personal care needs
- Feed themselves
- Participate in social activities
Enrollment
Enrollment is available at an affordable daily rate. Scholarship opportunities are also available to assist those in need. To enroll or inquire about scholarships, please contact The Chadwick Foundation.
Apply:
If you have a loved one with special needs, you may apply to be a part of the Chadwick Foundation to receive services.
Enrollment Application:
Complete the enrollment application and pay your $50 enrollment fee.
All potential participants and a family member or guardian will then have a scheduled application interview. If any potential participants then decides not to participate in the program, the enrollment fee is refundable.
The enrollment fee is refundable for those not eligible for the program.
